Mashed potatoes, gravy, buckeyes and cookies galore are right around the corner as the holidays are approaching. With the temperature cooling off, we need to heat things up to keep a little balance inside and out. As tempting as it sounds, drop the hibernation mindset and pick up your jacket and active shoes – get outside and get active! Not only will you promote a healthier lifestyle, but your body will actually burn more calories trying to keep you warm during your outside adventures in the crisp autumn air. Need some ideas? Here’s where we can help.
Grab your cameras, a group of friends and enjoy hiking through the yellows and oranges of fall – this is Kentucky after all, and gorgeous hiking opportunities are all around you!
Light a bonfire and enjoy some firelight yoga. Followed by “healthy” s’mores of course…
Walk your dog! Don’t have a dog? Walk your baby or child…maybe even your husband? Just get outside! Pick a destination, maybe a nearby cafe or a certain sign on the road, and try to lengthen the distance each time you walk. Get those legs moving.
