Dr. Shericka Smith, DSW, LCSW
Asking for help can be hard. Taking care of yourself must be a priority in order to efficiently care for others. I decided to obtain a Doctorate in Social Work because I have been on both sides: seeking help and being the helper. Let me be your helper! I bring a unique blend of education, training, and life experience that I think will help you to define and meet your goals. We’ll start with a safe place and then begin our work on whatever issues you bring. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
Having worked in various capacities of the mental health world for the past 12 years, I have had the opportunity to help children and families navigate the stressors of life and address their mental health needs. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and recently completed my Doctor of Social Work degree at the University of Kentucky.
Studying the effects of untreated childhood trauma on adults is my passion and I am eager to utilize what I have learned in my treatment modalities. I truly believe that “nothing changes if nothing changes” and I am looking forward to helping things change for you! |
