“It’s only once a year…I’ll get back on track in January.”
Ever heard that one before? Better yet….ever used that excuse yourself?
The holiday season does not serve as an excuse to eat everything in sight and halt the physical workouts.
“All those cookies….cakes….pies… I’ll just have one.”
By all means, go for it! Treat yourself. You deserve it. Just try not to get carried away. How about this: literally savor each and every bite as you indulge in your holiday treat. Take a pause after each bite. How does it taste? How does it feel in your mouth? How well does it pair with your glass of wine or cup of coffee? By slowing down and truly enjoying your treat, the urge to reach for more may be lessened.
“Tried it. And uhh….I still are three pieces of pie.”
Okay, step one: don’t freak out. Try a simple cleanse the next few days with lots of spring water and fresh fruits and veggies. Pair this with a simple daily workout.
Exercise encourages the body to release endorphins which will help fight off holiday stress as well as the extra calories we’re all tempted to consume. Right on time? Low on equipment? No gym membership? Try this simple circuit workout to get your blood flowing and heart pumping.

Grab your phone, play some awesome tunes, and set your timer. Do each exercise for 60 seconds and repeat 2-3 times. Stay on track this holiday season 🙂
